The Next Big Thing

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

Welcome to the NEXT BIG THING Blog Hop.

What is a blog hop? Basically, it’s a way for readers to discover authors new to them. I hope you’ll find new-to-you authors whose works you enjoy. On this stop on the blog hop, you’ll find a bit of information on me and one of my books and links to five other authors you can explore!

Here you’ll find information about other great authors as well as information about my work-in-progress, My Southern Bride. It features Monty Joe Nelson, the hunky cowboy (and Charlie’s big brother) from Chasing Charlie. I don’t yet have a cover for it, but I’ll update this post once I do.

My gratitude to fellow author Vicki Hinze for inviting me to participate in this event. You can click the following links to learn more about Vicki and her book.

In this blog hop, my fellow authors, in their respective blogs, and I have answered ten questions about our book or work-in-progress (giving you a sneak peek). We’ve also included some behind-the-scenes information about how and why we write what we write–the characters, inspirations, plotting and other choices we make. I hope you enjoy it!

Please feel free to comment and share your thoughts and questions. Here is my Next Big Thing!

1: What is the working title of your book?

My Southern Bride. My working title is Southern Fried Bride, which I love, but not everyone else does!

2: Where did the idea come from for the book?

Monty Joe, who appeared in Chasing Charlie, is an intriguing hero and I wanted him to have a chance to find his true love. He’s a true loner cowboy, but with strong family ties.  What could be more yummy?

3: What genre does your book come under?

Genre singular? That’s impossible for me. I’d categorize it as Western Romance, Contemporary Romance and Romantic Comedy!

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Bradley Cooper is my idea of a proper hero. Reese Witherspoon is so cute, she’d play Lori to perfection.

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

When hunky cowboy Monty Joe Nelson and the woman he dislikes most, Lori Palmer, are snowed in at his Texas ranch during a freak snow storm can they see past their differences or will their tempers flair?

6: Is your book self-published, published by an independent publisher, or represented by an agency?

This book will be published by EPW, a smaller-sized press.

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Three months and counting.

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

This story is part of my Texas Two-Step Series.

9: Who or what inspired you to write this book?

So many of my readers emailed me about whether Monty Joe would get his story that I simply  had to write this book. Definitely my  readers are the inspiration for My Southern Bride!

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

If you like animals, you’ll enjoy this story. There’s a precious goat named Sir Isaac Newton who will make you giggle!

Below you will find authors who will be joining me by blog, next Wednesday. Do be sure to bookmark and add them to your calendars for updates on WIPs and New Releases! Happy Writing and Reading!
