Whenever I think of spring, I envision beautiful fields of bluebonnets blooming in Texas.

The bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas. From the time I could walk, my grandmother would take me out each year for photo ops in fields of bluebonnets.

To this day, my sisters and I can’t resist stopping when we see the flowering beauties.

In the spirit of passing on the tradition, our children are forced to endure enjoy these photo ops, too. If you’re not familiar with bluebonnets, they have lovely royal blue petals and can grow up to a foot tall.
